New Restaurant Opening: TLC Reading Time: 3 minutes

TLC has to be one of my favorite openings lately. And a quick scroll through the images and it’s clear to see why.

It’s a fast casual concept that has an elevated twist. Guests can choose to dine inside or outside, with plenty of seating for large groups, families, and the space is pet friendly. You order from the register, take a seat, and they’ll bring your food out to you and BTW there is a full bar (And Tequila 512 is on the menu!)

Looking through the menu lots of things begin to catch your eye, but I knew that I wanted to try the seafood boil. You have 3 steps when it comes to the boil. 1. What type of meats, we went with andouille sausage, crab legs, mussels, and shrimp. 2. What flavor, we went with the Cajun Spice. and 3. The sauce, and we kept it OG and went with a drawn butter. There are a few ways to customize it, but ours was a good traditional boil and to say that it exceeded my wildest dreams is an understatement. It truly was magical and the cajun spice was a nice heat!

We also went with a few of their sides, like french fries, brussels sprouts, and a bowl of gumbo. All were delicious, perfectly portioned and ready for sharing. The brussel sprouts were extra delicious, mixed in with raisins and apple bites, it gave the dish a lot of added texture and flavor that easily makes these some of the best brussel sprouts i’ve had!

It is a seafood heavy menu, but don’t let that deter you. It just means alongside a cold bar where you can get oysters and shrimp cocktails. You can also have chicken fried steak and sandwiches on fresh artisanal bread. I wish there was something that I didn’t like, but I enjoyed all of it. It was a treat!

Located right across from Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar, I can see this being a perfect pre movie drinks/snacks place, or grab a drink and sit on the patio after you stroll through Lamar Union. It doesn’t matter how you get there as long as you go. Seriously go, and then tell them Dine With Shayda sent you!
